Snoggle

Safe Dating

It’s exciting to meet new people. However, you should always exercise caution when interacting with strangers. Make sure your safety is a priority, whether during the first exchange of messages or in-person meetings. While you cannot control the behavior of others, you can take measures to stay safe while using Snoggle.

Online Safety

Do not send money or share sensitive financial information

Never transfer money, even if urgently asked. Money transfers are irreversible, similar to cash payments. Avoid sharing information that could grant someone access to your bank accounts. If anyone within the Snoggle community asks for money, report it to us immediately.

Protect your personal information

Do not share sensitive information like your social security number, addresses, or details about your daily routine (e.g., when and where you regularly work out). If you have children, be especially cautious with information about them, such as names, schools, or ages.

Stay on the platform

Use the Snoggle platform for messaging when getting to know someone new. People with bad intentions often try to move communication to other platforms like SMS or messaging apps quickly to bypass Snoggle’s security features.

Be cautious with people in foreign countries

Be wary of people claiming to be from your country but who are stuck abroad and need financial help.

Report suspicious or inappropriate behavior

If you feel someone has crossed the line, let us know. You can block and report users who violate our terms of service, such as:

  • Requests for money or donations
  • Harassment or threats
  • Inappropriate behavior during or after a meeting
  • Fraudulent profiles or spam

Use the reporting system directly through the profile or message view. More information can be found in our guidelines.

Account Security

Choose a strong password and be cautious when logging in from public or shared devices. Snoggle will never ask for your username or password via email. If you receive such requests, report them immediately.

Meeting in Person

No rush

Take your time before committing to an in-person meeting or chatting outside of Snoggle. Ask questions to identify any potential warning signs early.

Meet in public places

Arrange to meet in public, busy places and stay there. A private meeting should be considered only later. If your date pushes for a private meeting, end the date.

Inform friends or family

Let someone know your plans, including the meeting place and time. Keep your phone accessible and ensure it is sufficiently charged.

Own transportation plans

Plan your own way to and from the meeting so you can leave at any time if you feel uncomfortable. Even if you drive yourself, having a backup plan - such as a ride-hailing app or pickup by friends - is always advisable.

Respect your boundaries

Alcohol and drugs can impair your judgment. If your date pressures you to consume more, stand firm and end the meeting.

Keep an eye on drinks and personal items

Only accept drinks directly from the bartender or service staff, as some substances are odorless and tasteless. Do not leave personal items like your phone or handbag unattended.

Leave if you feel uncomfortable

It is entirely okay to end a meeting early if you feel uncomfortable. Trust your instincts and don’t hesitate to seek help from on-site staff.

LGBTQ+ Travel

Caution when traveling

While it’s important to live your identity freely, there is potential risk for the LGBTQ+ community in many countries. Inform yourself about the laws of your destination and activate your profile's safety mode in unsafe regions. In such areas, we recommend not displaying your profile on Snoggle.

Some countries enforce laws that even punish communication on LGBTQ+ platforms.

Sexual Health and Consent

Protect yourself

Condoms, when used properly, can reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). However, some diseases like herpes or HPV can also be transmitted through skin contact. Vaccinations can lower the risk of some infections.

Talk about it

Open communication about sexual health is crucial before engaging in physical intimacy. In some countries, knowingly withholding an STI is a criminal offense.

Consent

Consent is essential. All parties must be able to consent to sexual activity and can withdraw consent at any time.
